چکیده

A new method for 2 L libration-point orbit stationkeeping is proposed in this paper using continuous thrust. The circular restricted three-body problem with Sun and Earth as the two primaries is considered. The unstable orbit about the 2 L libration-point requires stationkeeping maneuvers to maintain the nominal path. In this study, an approach, called the “ D θ − technique,” based on optimal control theory gives a closed-form suboptimal feedback solution to solve this nonlinear control problem. In this approach the Hamiltonian-Jacobi-Bellman (HJB) equation is solved approximately by adding some perturbations to the cost function. The controller is designed such that the actual trajectory tracks a predetermined reference orbit with good accuracy. Numerical results employing this method demonstrate the potential of this method.

Modified Chebyshev-Picard Iteration Methods for Station-Keeping of Translunar Halo Orbits

The halo orbits around the Earth-Moon L2 libration point provide a great candidate orbit for a lunar communication satellite, where the satellite remains above the horizon on the far side of the Moon being visible from the Earth at all times. Such orbits are generally unstable, and station-keeping strategies are required to control the satellite to remain close to the reference orbit. A recentl...

Multiple Spacecraft Formation Control Using

Multiple spacecraft formation control about the 2 L libration point is investigated in this paper. The circular restricted three-body problem with Sun and Earth as the two primaries is utilized as a framework of study. The idea of virtual structure is considered as the architecture of multiple spacecraft formation. The center of the virtual rigid body follows a nominal orbit around the 2 L libr...

The discovery by Marcy et al. The selection of this almost singular state by the dynamical fit means that the resonances are almost cer...
